Q: Where is McMiller? McMiller is in Eagle WI. Driving Directions can be found here.

 

Q: Is McMiller open to the public? Yes, we are open to the public. Those who are members receive discounts but you do not have to be one to enjoy our facilities.

 

Q: Is McMiller open during inclement weather? All ranges have roofs over shooting bench areas. During heavy rain we suggest wearing appropriate footwear for the muddy areas down range.

 

Q: What is the minimum age to shoot? Minimum age to shoot at McMiller is 8 years old however caliber restrictions up to age 12 must be honored. Please see the pistol/rifle range page for more details.

 

Q: Do you have gun rentals? No, not at this time.

 

Q: Can you repair my gun? Yes, we work with a full time professional gunsmith and are an official drop of location for his shop. More information can be found here.

 

Q: Can I shoot reloaded rounds? Yes, please be safe.

 

Q: Other ranges have magazine restrictions, does McMiller have any? No magazine capacity restrictions are in place for any ranges at McMiller however rate of fire is limited to one round per second. When using our sporting clays course shooters are restricted to two rounds per throw.

Q: Does McMiller have restrictions on ammunition I can use?
Yes. ammunition restrictions include but are not limited to .50 caliber BMG, and hardened steel jacketed bullets.

Q: How do we get our targets up? A range officer will call a cease fire every 15 minutes to allow access to the target area. Staple guns and tape are provided for those putting up targets. During a cease fire all weapons must be completely unloaded with actions open. Absolutely no handling of weapons or ammunition during a cease fire including adjustments is allowed, NO EXCEPTIONS. Once the range is clear and all shooters have returned to their benches a range officer will clear the range and fire may commence.

Q: What are the regulations for brass collection? McMiller greatly appreciates everyone picking up after themselves and either taking their brass with them or depositing it in the brass buckets. Range rules allow for shooters to take their own brass with them however prohibits picking through brass buckets and ground brass.

Q: Can I shoot my rifle or slug gun on the 25yd range or pistol on the 100yd range? Yes, any gun may be fired on all ranges as long as it meets caliber restrictions.

Q: Can you help me site in my gun or provide shooting instruction? Yes, McMiller offers a variety of sighting services and shooting instruction. Basic instruction is provided by our range officers however a thorough instruction is offered for a fee.

 

Q: Are their insects on the Sporting Clays course? McMiller is located in the middle of the Kettle Moraine State Forest which is a natural habitat for Mosquitoes and Deer Flies. We recommend you come prepared. Insect repellant is available in our Pro-Shop.

 

Q: Do you have leagues? Yes. We have summer and winter leagues for
Sporting Clays, 25 Yard Pistol, 100 Yard Rifle, and 300 Yard Rifle.
